Time for sterilization, Dogs!
Minister of state for environment and forests, Jairam Ramesh on Friday, Jul 10 said that all the stray dogs in the country will be sterilized in the next 10 years,while releasing a book on animal birth control.
According to WHO estimates, 20,000 people in India die due to rabies and there have been reports in certain parts of the country wherein people especially children were attacked and in some extreme cases killed by stray dogs.
If sterilized, the dogs will eventually die out as they will be unable to reproduce.
