Apr. 5--Whatcom County drivers who are more than 55 years old may be able to reduce their auto insurance premiums by completing the AAA Driver Improvement Program on April 29. The one-day course aims to remind drivers about defensive driving tactics to reduce accidents and keep drivers safe. Apr. 4--What Harold Murphy began in 1934 as a way to earn extra money to support his family just hit the 75-year mark. The business he started while working at International Harvester, Murphy Insurance at 626 Broadway in New Haven, is now run by his son Tom. TORONTO - Lawyer groups say a review of the insurance industry released Friday is good news for accident victims facing massive deductibles imposed by auto insurers.The five-year review, conducted by the Financial Services Commission of Ontario, advises the provincial government to reduce the deductibles for injured accident victims from the current $15,000 and $30,000 to $10,000 and $20,000.The Ontario Trial Lawyers Association and Ontario Bar Association, which welcomed the report, say it recognizes the "punitive nature" of the industry's deductibles....
