Kanjeevaram has received the best feature film award at the 55th National Film Awards . Prakash Raj has won the best actor for his performance in Kanjeevaram too.
Kanchivaram is a Tamil film directed and written by Priyadarshan. The movie stars Prakash Raj and Shriya Reddy in lead roles and has the musical score by M. G. Sreekumar. The film was premiered and released at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2008. It was also shown at the Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival in Pittsburgh.
The film grossed $ 1.85 million at the box office.
