Guest post of the week by Deangelo Spencer
One of the greatest inventions ever is the DVR. I just don't know how I managed my life before this nifty creation. While most of the shows I really enjoy don't come on until the prime time hours, there are a couple of programs that I never miss now that I have my DVR set up with my satellite TV from this website.
I used to set my VCR to tape Days of Our Lives every week day for me, but sometimes the tapes failed me. They were either old or the video or audio would be messed up. Though it didn't happen every single time, it was still frustrating when it did occur.
What I love even more than my daily soap is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I always make time for their games, not wanting to rely on the unstable quality of a VCR tape before DVR options became popular. This wasn't a bad thing unless it was an early game on Sunday. I never miss church either, but I would always get home two minutes before kickoff. I hated cutting it so close, but hey, I'm not the one who scheduled the games to come on 30 minutes after church services end.
Now, I don't have to miss either one anymore. I have both set up to record automatically on my DVR. I no longer have to worry about a scratchy video or horrible audio with my soap opera. I can actually stay and have some fellowship after church now too, knowing that I won't miss a moment of the game when I get home.
