NUS Enterprise empowers the pursuit of innovation and enterprise in Asia and beyond.  We believe that Echelon 2011 is a great entrepreneurial platform that pulls together entrepreneurs, startups, and technology  from the region together.  We are proud to support Echelon once again, as Asia’s leading web technology event.

NUS Enterprise’s investment portfolio

Some of the supported companies includes tenCube (acquired by MacAfee), Mozat, Personal-e-motion, Infindo Technolgy, NavSemi Energy which are incorporated in Singapore.  Some of these companies are founded by non-Singaporeans but decided to set-up their company in Singapore to tap on the support structure and funding opportunities.  NUS Enterprise has a portfolio of more than 80 companies.

NUS Enterprise’s investment criteria

NUS focuses on supporting start-ups which have linkages with the University, where the founder is a NUS student or alumni, the company has licensed NUS technology or it has secured funding through our investment partner.  To be considered for support by NUS Enterprise, start-up must first be incorporated in Singapore and has demonstrated commitment to develop its innovative technology in Singapore.

NUS Enterprise was established as a University-level cluster, to provide an enterprise dimension to NUS teaching and research involving the University’s students, staff and alumni. The functions of the Enterprise cluster complement the Academic cluster of the University to nurture talents with an entrepreneurial and global mindset. NUS Enterprise promotes the spirit of innovation and enterprise through Experiential Education, Industry Engagement & Partnerships and Entrepreneurship Support

NUS Enterprise provides support through its Incubator eco-system, where start-ups can leverage upon NUS Enterprise’s strong network of angel funds and VCs.  NUS Enterprise also provides physical space at a number of locations within theNUS campus. It also offers infrastructure support, through access to NUS R&D resources, IP advice, and legal, accounting and business assistance.  Among the other support, it also helps start-ups with funding, through its investment partner (eg. Accel-X Pte Ltd,) or assistance in obtaining grants from the government agencies.  NUS Enterprise physically incubates an average of more than 30 startups.
