Startups for breakfast in Singapore

Here’s another meetup for startups and entrepreneurs in Singapore: The Lion City StartupGuild Breakfast. Most of the startup events in town centre around drinks (often containing alcohol!) and happen at night. This morning meetup should work better for the non-nocturnal members of the startup community in Singapore.

The meetup developed over discussions among Singapore-based entrepreneurs and startup lovers on the Yammer-based community StartupGuild.

The next one’s happening on Saturday, June 18. Details below.

We asked Jason Ong, one of the event’s founders and one of Singapore’s technology men-about-town, a few questions about the meet up.
Who should go for startup breakfast? Who went the last time?
Anybody involved in a startup or interested in doing a startup. (See this post about the meetup from Martin Brocchaus)

What did you guys talk about?
We went around introducing ourselves and what we’re trying to achieve with our startups. Conversations are organic and can lead to folks geeking out over their personal interests. We had the founder of http://singaporebrides.com sharing her history and his startup trials. Martin Brochhaus went really geeky over Minecraft.

Who organises this? How did this start?

Mike Foong and Jason Ong. Started over a conversation thread on StartupGuild.net.
