Delhi Mayoral election

The BJP has an clear majority in the 272-member MCD House. The strength of BJP is 172, followed by Congress (73), BSP (16) and Independents (10).
The election for the post of Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Delhi with ruling BJP candidates Prithvi Raj Sawhney and Rajesh Gehlot for BJP. Prithvi Raj Sawhney, the Chairman of MCD Education Committee, is the BJP nominee for Mayor, and Rajesh Gehlot nominee for the post of Deputy Mayor.
