Web Wednesday – Social Media Monitoring – 16 Feb

webwednesdaysingapore-logoThere is a lot of buzz surrounding the area of social media monitoring (SMM). SMM has become mission critical with global crisis situations like BP Oil Spill, Toyota recalls, KFC Coupon crisis in China and the DBS ATM breakdown right here in Singapore. Web 2.0 platforms have provided consumers with opportunities to voice their concerns in real-time. In effect brands are being hijacked and managed by the consumers. SMM enables brand owners and agencies manage this phenomenon by listening and getting involved in the conversations appropriately.

This month for Web Wednesday, the speaker is Arvind Sethumadhavan, the CEO of JamiQ, a social media monitoring company. Arvind will showcase how companies can benefit from monitoring using intelligent real-time data visualization and share some examples of how brands can be hijacked on social media and show us how to leverage the social broadcast opportunity.

JamiQ provides brand owners and agencies with web listening technologies to be an effective part of the social conversation revolution.

Prior to JamiQ, Arvind led key client relationships at Mindshare focusing on digital marketing initiatives. He has a strong background in ROI analytics having run GroupM Business Science as regional CEO for APAC. He set up Mindshare ATG in China in 2001. Arvind also has senior level experience at IMRB, Millward Brown, Lintas, and Taylor Nelson Sofres China.
