Aptera Motors claims the Aptera 2 Series accelerates from 0 to 60 mph (0 to 97 km/h) in less than 10 seconds with a top speed over 85 mph (137 km/h). Their first vehicle will be the all-electric Aptera 2e (formerly the Typ-1e) , with plans for a follow-on plug-in hybrid Aptera 2h (formerly the Typ-1h). They are aiming to price the 2-series from the mid-$20,000s to mid-$40,000s depending on drive-train and other options.

Aptera 2e
The Aptera 2 Series (formerly the Aptera Typ-1) is a high-efficiency passenger vehicle, currently in the final stages of design by Aptera Motors. They are currently accepting pre-orders from California residents. The fuel efficiency of 300 mpg-US (0.78 L/100 km) when plugged in every 120 miles (190 km) would make it one of the most fuel-efficient cars in the world.

Concept Car : Aptera Typ-1 Does 300mpg
The Aptera Typ-1 Concept Car is a three-wheeled vehicle. The two front wheels are used for steering and the rear wheel is connected to an electric motor. The Typ-1 will consume 60-80 Watt·hours/km at 55 mph (90 km/h), making it a low energy vehicle.
The Typ-1 has a drag coefficient of 0.11, compared with 0.19 for the record-holding EV1.
It has recessed windshield wipers, low rolling resistance tires, and cameras in place of side mirrors. And, did we say it goes 300 miles on a gallon of gas?

Concept Car : Aptera
The Aptera is one hell of a cool car. Always love it when style and philosophy come together. The future’s definitely bright if it’ll make such kinds of designs common.

The Aptera (Greek for “wingless”) is an environmentally-friendly car that’s as clean and green as it is fantastically futuristic. The three-wheeled hybrid, which offers an all-electric or plug-in hybrid option, isn’t just a concept- you can reserve your own with just a $500 deposit.

Concept Car : Aptera 330mpg
Yeah, you're laughing at this weird-looking half-egg-shaped concept car now, but when gasoline costs $10 a gallon not too long from now, this 330 mile-per-gallon Aptera concept car might start looking pretty damn good. It cops that high-mpg efficiency with a fuel-sipping diesel engine lashed onto hybrid technology, coupled with its wind-slippery aerodynamics and 850-pound weight.
Stare at it long enough, and it starts looking like a lemon that's been cut in half. Will it be a lemon? Wait a couple of years to find out, because the Aptera's designer, Accelerated Composites, says the three-wheeled fuel miser will hit the road by the end of 2008 at a sticker price of less than $20K. – Charlie White
