Video: 2010 Mazda3 MPS - Mazdaspeed3 Teaser

Having already released official photos of its new 2010 Mazda3 MPS, the Japanese automaker took the next step and published a 30 second-long teaser video of its hot hatch that will bow at the Geneva Motorshow in early March. All we know about the new iteration of the sporty Mazda3 MPS is that behind that annoyingly happy face is the same turbocharged 2.3-liter direct-injection 4-cylinder engine of the current model. It remains to be seen if Mazda's engineers have performed any upgrades to the engine that delivers an output of 260HP in the 2009 Mazda3 MPS launching it to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.1 sec and on to a top speed of 250 km/h or 154mph.

Video: 2010 Mazda3 Hatchback Driving Footage

At the Bologna Motor Show, Mazda staged the world premiere of the all-new 2010 Mazda hatchback. The launch of the Mazda3 5-Door follows on the heels of the debut of the 4-Door sedan, which made its world premiere at the current Los Angeles Auto Show. Both cars are scheduled to go on sale in spring of 2009. For some reason, Mazda decided to release a 10 minute-long, soundless video of its new hatch driving around to 'nowhere-land'. For your well being, we cut it down to 3-minutes and added a 'smiley' song to keep you from sleeping...

First Video: 2010 Mazda3 Sedan

The all-new Mazda3 Sedan revealed its 'smiley' face to the public for the first time today at the opening of the 2008 LA Auto Show. The current '3' is Mazda's best-selling vehicle worldwide with around 1.8 million global sales since its launch in 2003 and the Japanese firm hopes that the second generation model will do even better. Aside from the new sheetmetal and the overhauled interior the 2010 Mazda3 also sports a new 2.5-liter engine and new transmissions. 2010 Mazda3 Teaser Video Released at Sydney Motorshow

As Mazda was sending the pictures of its all-new Mazda3 Sedan to the world's automotive media, the first teaser film of the subcompact sedan broke cover at the Japanese automaker's video wall at the Sydney Motor Show late last night. The presentation was performed by Mazda Executive Vice President Philip Spender who flew to Australia specifically for this reason. "Today is the world's first look at the new-generation Mazda3, a compact car that will build further on the Stylish, Insightful and Spirited foundations laid by its predecessor," said Mr. Spender. -Continued

"We chose Sydney to give the world its first look at the new Mazda3's striking design. Following that, North America will host the world debut of the Mazda3 sedan in late November. Shortly after that the new-generation Mazda3 five-door hatchback will debut on the European continent," he added.

"We've developed the new-generation Mazda3 to be a small-car leader around the world. The Mazda3's expressive and emotional styling, heightened driving dynamics, quality and refinement will propel it to even greater heights than the very successful model it replaces."

Video: 2009 Mazda6 North American Market Model

With the second generation Mazda6 the Japanese carmaker decided to make a few changes to the North American market model. Compared to the European and Japanese spec “6”, the N.A. model is slightly longer and features a completely different trunk and rear bumper along with a new front fascia. Mazda also retuned the suspension to meet the particular demands of the N.A. market in terms of handling and comfort. The 2009 Mazda6 will be available in the U.S. exclusively as a 4-door sedan with two engine options; a 170Hp 2.5L 4-cylinder and the more powerful 273Hp 3.7L V6. -Video after the jump

2008 Mazda6 Promotional Video

It’s bigger; it’s sexier; it looks more upscale and it’s lighter than the current Mazda6. If the Japanese firm has managed to retain that “zoom-zoom” character in the 6’s driving dynamics, what more could you possibly want from a mid-size sedan? Sales start in Europe from mid-October with the option of three petrol engines (1.8L, 2.0L & 2.5L) and a 2.0 turbodiesel. US buyers will have to wait until next summer were it will be introduced as a 2009 model. See our Frankfurt report on the all-new Mazda6 by clicking here.

New 2008 Mazda 2 / Demio Video

Back in March, we uploaded the first promo video of Mazda’s new subcompact hatch that’ll go on sale in Europe this autumn. Thanks to our “Français” pals at Le Blog Auto, we have a second video of the all-important ’08 Mazda2 that will also find its way to Japan, Australia, China and other markets but not the U.S.

Youthful design aside, the most intriguing aspect on the ’08 Mazda2 (also known as Demio in Japan and other markets) is that for the first time ever, a new Mazda is lighter than the model it replaces. According to the Japanese carmaker, the Mazda2 is approximately 100 kg (220 lbs) lighter than its predecessor weighing in at less than 1,000 kg (2,200 lbs). Even if that’s partially due to the new Mazda2’s reduced overall length and lower roofline, still, it’s admirable. -Click "Read More..." below to see the video

Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe "12-second video ad" winner

12-seconds; that’s the time needed for the MX-5 Roadster Coupe’s retractable hard-roof to open and close. With that in mind, Mazda set-up a pan-European video contest where all participants had to create a 12-seconds long video of the new MX-5 Roadster Coupe. About 200 videos where submitted across Europe, with the winner being Marianna Shafranskaya from Russia. We haven’t seen the rest of the videos, but we sure enjoyed Shafranskaya’s one. The later will receive a new Mazda Roadster Coupe, while nine other finalists will have to be content with prizes including Bose home entertainment audio systems.

PRESS RELEASE: Novice filmmaker wins Mazda MX-5 Roadster Coupe Video Contest

Mazda Motor Europe has announced that Marianna Shafranskaya from Russia has won its pan-European 12-second video contest. The contest is the highlight of a unique advertising campaign for the new MX-5 Roadster Coupe – whose power retractable hard top opens and closes in a record 12 seconds.

The campaign included an interactive website where budding filmmakers were challenged to capture their interpretation of Mazda’s Zoom-Zoom feeling on film. From a total of nearly 200 videos submitted from across Europe, a jury selected Ms Shafranskaya’s entry as the grand prize winner. She will receive a new Mazda Roadster Coupe, while nine other finalists will receive prizes including Bose home entertainment and audio systems.

The jury comprised of Mazda’s agency Creative Director Eddy Greenwood, website producer Scott Bedford and Seamus Masterson, director of the viral marketing. "Mazda’s new Zoom-Zoom roadster with the retractable hard top," said Greenwood, ”is a thriller”. That’s why we asked the public to submit their own version of a thrilling 12 seconds, filmed in a way that is surprising and fun. All the final 10 videos were very good, but we felt the grand prize winner best reflected Mazda’s spirit of fun and ingenuity.”

Video: Monster Motorsports Mazda Miata / MX-5 V8

Ok, I know this story isn’t exactly new but this is the first time I’ve seen Monster Mototrsport’s Miata V8 in real-life action. I'm not sure if the company exists anymore since their site (www.monstermotorsports.com) has been down for a long time now. What I do know though is that the Southern Californian based tuner made a reputation by replacing Miata’s stock 4cylinder 1.6 with a 5-litre EFI Ford V8 engine that was offered with several outputs, starting out from about 250Hp and going up to 500Hp with the addition of a supercharger.

And since vids are almost always more entertaining than pics, this one was worth the time to find. But, in the name of all that is holy... ixnay on the color-ay.

LA Show: Mazda Nagare Concept Video & Pics

Now this is a new one! Mazda describes the Nagare -pronounced “na-ga-reh” which is Japanese for ‘flow’ and the embodiment of motion, as “a concept of a concept.” In other words, it’s proportions and surface language will evolve in subsequent designs planned for presentation at future autoshows this season. So how long till we’ll see a concept version of the… Nagare concept? Well, sooner than you think, as Mazda’s new global design director, Laurens van den Acker stated that the Japanese company would debut two concepts, one in January at the Detroit Show and one in the Geneva Show in March.
