With this ad, the German automaker 'welcomes' four new additions to its range including the next generation SLK roadster and CLS 63 AMG, as well as two never before seen (at least not officially) models, the SLS AMG Roadster and the C-Class Coupe. Brabus: New Hot Wheels for 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS Sports Sedan

As sure as the sun rises tomorrow, Brabus will present some horsepower crazy version of the new Mercedes-Benz CLS in the likes of the insane, first-generation CLS-based Rocket V12 that packed 730 twin-turbocharged horses under its bonnet. Brabus Presents the World’s First Euro 6 Compliant Performance Kit for Diesel Models

Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist Brabus has presented a new ECO PowerXtra D6S performance kit for the S350 BlueTec, and by doing so, the company claims to have created the world’s first tuned diesel-powered car that meets the Euro 6 emissions standard, scheduled to go into effect in 2014. Available for both rear-while drive and 4MATIC four-wheel drive variants, the kit delivers an additional 55HP and 70 Nm (52 lb-ft) of torque, for a total of 313HP and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft).

Mercedes-Benz Readying Baby CLS and Small SUV, will Arrive in the U.S. within the next Three Years

In order to attract younger customers, Mercedes is planning to launch several new compact models, all based on the brand’s upcoming MFA (Mercedes Front-wheel-drive Architecture) platform. These new vehicles will also be offered in North America. According to an Automotive News Europe report, the Stuttgart automaker is currently working on a 'baby' CLS four-door coupe model and an SUV, which could be joined later on by a convertible or shooting brake variant.

“We will introduce the next generation of our MFA family to the U.S.”, Joachim Schmidt, Mercedes' global sales and marketing boss, told ANE in an interview. “Two variants, maybe even a third, are planned for the U.S.”, he added.

LA Show 2010: New 2012 Mercedes-Benz CLS 63 AMG with Bi-Turbo V8

Taking center stage at Mercedes-Benz's LA Auto Show booth is the range-topper of the new 2012 CLS series, the CLS 63 AMG sports sedan. Like the S 63 AMG and CL 63 AMG, the CLS 63 AMG benefits from a new 5.5-litre V8 biturbo engine with direct-injection technology producing 525 hp and torque of 700 Nm. Mercedes also offers an optional AMG Performance package, which increases these figures to an even more manly 557 hp and 800 Nm.

New Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG with 518HP or 550HP to Premiere in LA

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the world debut of its next-generation CLS63 AMG sports sedan at the 2010 Los Angeles Auto Show, open to the public November 19-28. The German maker also revealed that it will make an announcement on the U.S. rollout of its fuel cell-powered F-CELL car.

The yet to be shown 2011 CLS63 AMG model (the standard CLS is pictured above), which is based on the second generation of Merc's so-called "four-door coupe", will be powered by a new 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine matched to a MCT (multi-clutch technology) transmission. In base form, the biturbo V8 churns out 518 horsepower and 516 lb.-ft. of torque, but there's also an optional Performance Package that increases output to 550 hp and 590 lb.-ft. of torque.

BREAKING: Mercedes-Benz to Build CLS Shooting Brake, on Sale in 2012

Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed recent speculations that its CLS Shooting Brake concept, first shown at the Auto China in April 2010, is heading into production. The sporty-looking shooting brake model with the sloping tail end will be based on the second generation of the CLS sedan and will be launched to the market in 2012.

The CLS Shooting Brake will be built at the Mercedes-Benz Plant Sindelfingen on the same production line as the CLS and the E-Class Sedan.

While the Stuttgart-based automaker is keeping its cards close to its chest, it's safe to assume that the Shooting Brake model will more or less carry the same lineup of gasoline and diesel engines as the new CLS, which made its world premiere in Paris in October. The range will most likely also include a flagship AMG model powered by Merc's new 5.5-liter twin-turbocharged V8 with at least 536-horsepower.

Mercedes Announces Engine Range and Prices for 2011 CLS, Starts Accepting Orders

While we'll have to wait for the Paris Motor Show at the end of the month to get up close and personal with the all-new, second generation CLS sports sedan, Mercedes-Benz today released info on the available engine range and pricing for the European market. Furthermore, the Stuttgart automaker said that as of now, European buyers can place their order for the new CLS at the firm's sales partners.

Mercedes-Benz CLS Grand Edition: 560 Units for UK Market

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed UK pricing for its limited production CLS Grand Edition that will be offered with four powertrain options. Prices start from £48,445 on the road for the diesel-powered CLS 350 V6 CDI with Mercedes claiming that the extra equipment and special features result in £2,142 of added value for the customer. Only 560 units of the CLS Grand Edition will be coming to Britain, with first deliveries starting in the beginning of July.

Customers have a choice of five colors, including, for the first time on the CLS, Palladium Silver. Standard features include a Bi-Xenon Light Package with Cornering Light Function and Active Light System, "designo" leather upholstery and special trim elements. 2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Sports Sedan Spied Inside and Out: 20 High Res Photos

These are the best photos yet of Mercedes-Benz's second-generation CLS four-door coupe that will most likely make its world debut at next year's Paris Auto Show with the first examples expected to hit showrooms by early 2011. Our spy photographers managed to come up close to a prototype model in Germany scooping the very first pictures of the 2011 CLS' dashboard that uses much of the styling cues established by the new C and E-Class models becoming more angular with sharper creases.

In fact, the upper part of the center console looks like it came straight from Merc's executive saloon featuring the same exact rectangular hood for its central display.

Of course that comes to no surprise as the new CLS is closely related to the latest iteration of the E-Class sharing the same platform and mechanical hardware, which means a similar line-up of direct injection petrol and turbo diesel engines hooked up to Mercedes' seven-speed automatic transmissions.

Initially, the new CLS will be available with three petrol and one diesel engine. These include a 3.5-liter V6 with 292HP, a 5.5-liter V8 with 388HP and a 525HP 6.2-liter V8 for the range-topping AMG model, and the latest version of Merc's 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel producing 231HP.

Furthermore, according to Carscoop sources, a hybrid version of the new CLS will definitely be in the mix. It will be equipped with the same drivetrain as the recently revealed S400 Hybrid that combines a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine developing 279HP with a 20HP electric motor that's installed in the torque converter housing between the engine and the 7-speed automatic transmission. This particular hybrid system generates a total output of 299HP and a combined peak torque figure of 385 Nm or 283-lbs/ft.

As far as the exterior design is concerned, even though Mercedes has covered the prototype's sides and ends with more plastic cladding than a bondage club, it is evident that the overall shape of the sports saloon won't stray too far away from the current model, retaining the same characteristic low-roofed four-door profile of today's CLS.

However, expect to see some of the new E-Class' edgy design treats pass into the design of the front and rear ends and quite possibly, the shape of the rear wheel arch and the crease below the window line.

2011 Mercedes-Benz CLS Scooped on Film

The car that gave birth to the so-called four-door coupe segment, the Mercedes-Benz CLS, is going to be replaced by a brand new model that is expected to hit the market in late 2010 or early 2011. Captured here during winter testing in northern Scandinavia, the prototype CLS appears to retain the low-slung shape of the current model though it's very difficult to see any specific design details due to the heavy camouflage that covers the entire body of the saloon.

The next-generation CLS will share its hardware with the latest iteration of the E-Class sedan, so don't except any surprises under the hood. Powertrain options will include a 3.5-liter V6 with 292HP, a 5.5-liter V8 with 388HP and a 525HP 6.2-liter V8 for the sporty AMG version.

Mercedes-Benz Presents 2009 CLS Grand Edition

Given the lack of anything truly new to offer, Mercedes-Benz has introduced a special edition version of its recently updated CLS four-door coupe model. The CLS Grand Edition is part of Merc's new factory program called "designo" that offers buyers more exclusive options and differentiation within a model's line-up. In the case of the CLS Grand Edition this means a new platinum matt finish which is allegedly highly scratch- and dirt-resistant. Buyers can also choose from four other colors - obsidian black, iridium silver, carneol red or flint grey.

The additional exterior equipment for the CLSGrand Edition includes Bi-xenon headlamps with dark headlamp casings, new high-sheen AMG18-inch 5-spoke light-alloy wheels shod with 245/40 R 18 (front) and 275/35 R 18 (rear) tires and a "Grand Edition" insignia on the front wings.

The CLS Grand Edition's interior is distinguished by "designo" leather upholstery in "marron" – with the option of substituting this shade for sand, black, mystic red, porcelain or chablis, roof lining in anthracite Alcantara, together with the standard-fit tilting/sliding glass roof and trim elements in high-quality laurel wood that can be ordered with either a matt or a high-gloss finish.

The special edition CLS is available with four engine variants, including the V6 unit for the entry-level CLS280 and the 292HP CGI direct-injection power plant for the CLS 350 CGI model.

The Mercedes-Benz CLSGrand Edition can be ordered from January 2, 2009, with prices in Europe starting at 67,294.50 Euros incl. VAT for the CLS280 Grand Edition. Customer deliveries will commence in March 2009.
