Mercedes-Benz introduced a new F1 race car at New York Auto Show

Mercedes-Benz the US luxury car maker introduced a new F1 race car during the New York Auto Show. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 will be going to contest in 2011.

Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 car is powered with AMG 6.3 L V8 engine system with the reduction in weight, the car accelerates to 60mph in 3.7 seconds. The car is planned to contain a 186 mph which allow better speeds. To make driving more race-friendly, the engine is rised to a sequential six speed race transmission.

The special features of the car include an AMG race brake system comprised of ventilated discs, six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers. This is used as an alternative of the AMG carbon ceramic brakes possibly offered on the SLS, which do not fit in the FIA GT3 mandated 18-inch wheels. Middle locking alloy wheels determine 12x18 inches up front, and 13x18 inches on rear.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 car will be available at the starting of 2011 among the order opening shortly this year.
