Groupon Enters Indonesia With Acquisition Of East Ventures’ Disdus

Back in Dec 2010, daily deal giant Groupon entered Asia with acquisitions of assets in Singapore, Philippines, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Today, they have expanded again with its acquisition of Indonesian site, Disqus.

Launched in August 2010, Disqus currently serves Greater Jakarta and Bandung, with plans to expand to other major cities in Indonesia by the end of 2011.

Disdus joins the Groupon family, with more than 6K employees worldwide and millions of customers in 46 countries.

Disqus is a portfolio company of Singapore and Indonesia-based venture fund, East Ventures.
