Looking to Learning Something New? Hop On To Teacherji

Vertical local listing sites are a sure eye-candy for Indian startups. From restaurants to real estates, every niche is seeing new players. On similar lines is another player into coaching and training institutions category, Teacherji.

Teacherji is a Bangalore based startup that maintains an exhaustive listing of coaching classes and training institutions. The site maintains database of all sorts classes, from cooking to computer classes and from beauty courses to sports academies. The startup claims to have 5000+ listing across 600 categories in 17 cities.

The site has a decent UI with a considerable database size. Surely the team has to work on making the DB more exhaustive. Although decent number of options are listed for each category but a quick comparison with JustDial for some niche categories shows that quite some records are missing.

Given that the space is mostly dominated by aggressive SEO, how will Teacherji rise? Do you think they can pull off a Burrp like story with quality reviews and stronger offline connect? Well quality reviews is certainly required in this space and with some social features this might be quite useful. As for the SEO, the founder was a SEO manager at a world leading web company and this is already showing up in some real user searches on Google.

From my experience with local search and classifieds portals, the architecture looks pretty neat and it is about adding more data from here on.

Do give Teacherji a try and let us know if you found your next teacherji here.
