Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2009 results are yet to be finalised, but the trends available for the 81 seats of the assembly, the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was ahead in 24 seats , while the National Congress was leading in 23 out of the 81 constituencies in the state. The 81 member House heading for a hung verdict with no majority for any single political alliance.
Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), which was ahead in 19 seats, was emerging as a strong and key player in the formation of the government in the state, which has been under the president’s rule for almost a year now.The JMM has already put a rider for supporting any political alliance as they will support only those who will favour Shibu Soren (the JMM chief) as the new chief minister of Jharkhand.
Lalu Prasad’s Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) was ahead in six seats.
