Mother's Day

Yesterday we treat out mom and granny at the restaurant before we watch the Yankee game to celebrate Mother's Day.

on the way to pickup mom and granny

we all then heading off to Beverly Hills Cafe for lunch

inside the cafe at the front desk area where we ask for our reservation

fresh-hot buns with butter are so good- served as our starter. not sure if this is a complementary. i think. since we didn't order this. i had 2-and-half of these buns. i took the halves from grandma. i love it, eh. hehehe

this Tomato Basil soup is to die for! i swear. it was fantastic..

as usual my husband had the house special Veggie burger.

granny had Shrimp swim in vegetable salad
i decided to order this Mexican Chop-Chop (grilled chicken with yellow rice & beans, vegetables with guacamole, sour cream, and salsa sauce) for me. Its very filling. What a huge plate of serving! *burp* :)

I did not get a chance to snap mom's food. She got vegetable with rice soup. She loves it.
That's all. Simple celebration but fun.

Santa Claus is Here!

Somebody gave us a gift! God bless you more for being generosity, and thank you for our friends. I won't shout out their name over here cause they're very private person. Again and again, THANK YOU!

This is what I love about holidays sharing gifts are so special and fun. Sometimes you'll never know who's knocking our door bringing their gifts of love. Santa Claus is everywhere. He's just around the corner surprises every one of us. Oh yeah, bad people won't get anything except a box of coals. he he. When I was a little kid I so believed of Santa Claus (the ones I read from the books, the ones who lives in north pole, the ones who had reindeer and with material handling carrying lots of gifts in it.) who loves to give gifts.  I can't wait to give my gifts this coming Christmas most of all I can't wait to open my gifts! he he

Victoria's Secret

Last year (2009) Christmas, grandma was extremely excited to give her gift for me during the time of our exchanging gifts here in our house but to our surprised the gift was missing when she checked it in her loot bag. We then also checked every corner of our living room where we at and even in the car, but still nothing in there. We thought the gift was left in her house or dropped it in the parking lot. And to make the story short "the gift" was gone. She was very disappointed.

Did you know sometimes when you tried not to look for the missing stuffs it just somehow came out unexpectedly? It does happen to me all the time. Perhaps the God test our patience then, right? I think so. Well, 8 months later the missing gift was came out while grandma cleaning her closet. She was so happy knowing that she didn't totally not lost it, and excited to give it to me. It was a Victoria's Secret sleeping dress which I love. I feel love. :)

Gift Ideas for Men

There are so many stuffs that we could buy for a gift on Father's Day for our beloved fathers, husbands, grandfathers, uncles and to all the fathers out there. As of today many huge retailers are having on sale for men merchandises, their promos are very attractive- just for you father! :) Not only in stores are having promos but also in online stores. So many items for men are now marking down like men wrist watches, ties, gps (my husband would love this), men's perfume, electronics, etcetera..

Garmin GPS is by the way a great idea for Father's Day gift since mostly men are likes to drive their car. They loves any electronics and this can also be benefited by the whole family. Smart idea, noh? Heehee I kid, I kid! Okay? Well, I'm just saying that our father deserves to have a special treat this week.

Mother's Day Present

How time flies so fast it's May already it means another special holiday is coming to town. I'm talking about Mother's Day. Have you buy some gifts for your mom yet? There are many holiday sales for this special event already in the mall, and I'm still not decided what to get for mom. My excuse is being sick this past few days more than a week to be exact. Heehee But I'm okay now. Seriously, I don't know what to get for mom. She has everything but I want to give something special for her. I'm sure she would gets insulted if I will give her anti aging face face creams right? I know this is too lame. I should think more than that. lol

Mom loves Twilight Saga. I'm not kidding. Yes, she loves to read books like scifi, vampires something like that. I should get her the New Moon dvd. I'm sure she gets thrilled!

Easter Sunday

How was your Easter Sunday yesterday?
Mine was great as usual. It has been 3 years already that my whole family were invited for a dinner at our friends house in Pompano City. We went there yesterday.  The Kelly's made such delicious food. A semi vegetarian dishes except the ham. I really do appreciate vegetarian food except I can't swallow tufo. Other than that vegan foods are good it doesn't hurt my stomach when I'm full. Very light. Does nothing to worry about gaining more weight or getting herbal diet pill if you eat vegan food. I enjoyed eating it.
There's no children in their house so I didn't expect any colorful eggs to hunt. We're just having a good conversations after all that's what an adult does.

Meanwhile, I can't resist but took pictures their cat Tiki. He is so adorable, isn't he?

St. Patrick's Day

Can you believe how time flies so fast? Today is St. Patrick's Day and the next thing I know is Holy Week again. Arghh! Time to do something better now..oh god help me. *Sigh*

Well, speaking of St. Patrick's Day...
I'm not an Irish and so as my husband. That's why we're not celebrating St. Patrick's Day. But we know how important this "special day" to Irish people and for that we will greet you a Happy St. Patrick's Day! Enjoy and more luck to come.

What makes me and an Irish connected to each other are the The Corrs and U2 bands. You know how much I love their musics. If only I could find a leprechaun the only wish I would ask him is to meet and watch the live concert of one of my favorite song performers in the world the two famous Irish singers "The Corrs and Bono of U2." Listening their songs make my spirit alive it's like when I'm having the best acne treatment in the world. I feel inspired. Wish. Wish. Wish

Look what I have found in Youtube? The two of my favorite bands singing together video. How quick my wish could came true. Funny. LOL

The Essence Of Valentines

is LOVE..love..love. Because The Husband loves me he bought me a chocolate that I love.  He knows exactly what I like. What could have been better than that? Actually, I didn't expect for anything from him this Valentines because of the recessions. ha! Kidding. There were no signs that he gets me something hidden until he went out yesterday morning which was odd (he never go out on Sunday except we go to moms place together). For me, that was a hint. Sure enough he went back home with a big smile on his face and surprised me this box of chocolate. Ahh.. sweet eh! I was touched.

The Husband and I went to moms house to celebrate Valentines together with grandma. I cooked food for us to feast. Mom gave me stuff toy and a box of chocolate. Indeed, I'm a happy camper! I might needed a diet supplements to burn out the fats I am getting from the chocolate. heehee! I know how much they love me.

Welcoming 2010

of my very special way. Husband and I had dinner at home. I cooked bruschetta (bread), vegetables + pasta stew, plus I bought a honey ham, olives and red wine. We've watched documentaries about the history and origin of Barbarians from Asia, East and West (while having our dinner). What a lovely start for a new year! I had a blast.   .

Before the New Year's eve I made sure to prepare our little desserts which I bought (a little of everything) earlier today. These are belgian chocolate cheese cake, napoleon chocolate cake, truffles, and cinnamon walnut rugulach. Ahhhh, sweets!! But a glass of hot tea drink made these food a little less sweeter. The husband and I enjoyed it. While we're feasting it all we watched the New Year countdowns in Time Square NY through the live stream video in the Internet. That was it, 2009 is a history, 2010 is a new story. I can't believe the time flies so fast-- 2010 is already here . Happy New Year!

Goodbye 2009............. Hello, 2010!!

Thank You 2009

Despite of the economy crisis we have this year (2009) I am  very much thankful to god for giving us constant blessings that we savor every single day. Many different kind of sweets-food and vegetarian recipes I discovered this year. As a chocoholic, I found truffles chocolate my new best friend aside of course the Godiva's chocolate and many others. It is dark-bitter-sweet kind of taste and have less cholesterol just because it is pure dark chocolate without creme on it. I'm talking about the Classic French Truffles! Also I found Nougat very yummy. Just like the Black and Mild cigars very unique. For the vegetarian food I discovered 100% vegetarian pizza without cholesterol by making my own recipe. Thank god it came out taste good! So far I cook this pizza once a week for the husband. He never gets tired of it. :)

For 2010, I will continue to dig and search a new recipes for food, and chocolate for me!!

Celebrating Christmas

At home with the family is the most wonderful experience that I've always treasure. Ever since I moved here in the U.S.A to start a new life with the husband god never fails me to bless of having a wonderful family. I feel at home. I volunteer from my in-laws to host a lunch every Christmas day celebration. So, ever since it is our tradition to have a party in my home.

We usually started to exchange gifts before we digging in the food. I (even my dog Stormy) love exchanging gifts! It brought so much fun and excitement.

This year Christmas celebration I prepared a simple yet healthy delicious meals for us. Two weeks before Christmas I am searching recipes for me to prepare. Thanks of my FoodNetwork magazines! It made my searching a lot easier. I edited some of the ingredients of the recipes in order for me to achieve the goal to cook a vegetarian food. I cooked for the appetizer: Deep-Fried Green Beans, for the main entree: Rice Pilaf, Spicy Escarole w/ Garlic, Vegetable-Mushroom Stew and for not so vegetarian I cooked Mustard-Dill Fish, for the dessert: Creme Brulle

I was surprised the food came out taste good. Not I am biased because I cooked it but because the recipes is came from the proffesional chefs of the said magazine. Anyway, everybody was happy and enjoyed feasting the food. I hope everybody had a blast Christmas this year. I wish you all more blessings to come from our home to yours.
